Ali joined the Lavado lab in August 2019 as an undergraduate research assistant. In the past, she was involved with the American Lung Association conducting medical and bio-science research to support policies for nicotine use by comparing data related to nicotine concentrations in electronic cigarettes. Ali has also been trained under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the U.S.
Ali is a sophomore at Baylor University and a recipient of the Provost’s Gold Scholarship. She made the Dean’s list both semesters of her freshman year. She is also a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta national honor society for first year success, and the Baylor’s Golden Key chapter, an international honor society, which focuses on academic leadership and service.
Ali is originally from Des Moines, Iowa, and while she is used to the cold, she much prefers the Texas winters! When she can find the time, she enjoys hammocking with friends eating Greek food, or going for a jog.
